Tomorrow is the beginning of May, which means the beginning of Military Appreciation Month.
What it is: It’s a time to recognize and honor the service and sacrifices of our military members, their families, veterans and lost loved ones. It is our duty and honor to support our men and women in uniform not only when they are deployed, but also when they return home and transition to civilian life.
Who came by: Kyle Malady, Executive Sponsor of the Verizon VALOR ERG and CEO of Verizon Business, and David Caruth, VALOR Global Ops Lead.
What do we do to honor our veterans? Verizon is a leading military and veteran employer in the US with more than 8,000 veterans and active military members and more than 500 military spouses. We’ve received numerous awards and recognitions for our work in the area. We make donations to military-focused groups such as Wounded Warriors, Bunker Labs and USO EMEA.

That’s why we are committed to working with our military partners daily to address their changing and dynamic needs. How does it work? It’s easy. Take the survey. Leave a comment. It’s 100% confidential and helps leaders better understand your experience at the company and can help pave the way to make Verizon an even better place to work.
Remember these important nuggets:
- The approximately 10-minute survey will take place from April 29 to May 13.
- Employees active as of April 9 will be invited to complete the survey.
- Take the survey via To Dos on Inside Verizon or the Gallup survey email and texts to work-issued devices. Texts will come from 899000.
- The survey link cannot be shared, and individual responses are confidential.
- Results will be shared at the end of May.
- Only leaders who receive five or more responses may access aggregated results for their team/organization, and they cannot access personally-identifiable information.
